TRAI has extended the deadline for CAF submission for 15 days after a huge outcry by cable TV viewers.
A meeting was held with Multi System Operators in which TRAI officials became aware that there are so many people who subscribed to cable TV but their complete details are not yet available. MSO have requested for a extension in which TRAI has agreed and extended the dead line till July 10.
TRAI considered the request and decided to extend the deadline for submission of CAFs. This is being done to achieve full coverage by July 10, 2013 and with a view to minimise consumer inconvenience that could result from MSOs disconnecting set-top boxes immediately.
The status with regard to the entry of consumer details along with the choice of channels and services in their subscriber management systems was reviewed.
